How did you 3 met + what brought you so close?
P: “Cesar and I met while both worked at Pacha New York somewhere around 2012 and we’ve been thick as thieves ever since. It’s been a great privilege to witness his success, grow together and collaborate in different ways over the years.”
What’s an attribute in the other that you love or what’s something you always look forward to from their sets?
B: “Love Cesar’s sense of humor and his putting together of seemingly disparate parts—feel like that shines through when he’s DJing.”
P: “Cesar’s sound has range and scale. He can rock an intimate club or a big stage, and do it in a way that both satisfies heads and the mainstream – making it look easy!”
Talk us through a bit of your pre show prep or
post wind down.
B: “We tend to prep until the very last minute, pulling in music from all angles with a focus on opening and closing selections.”
P: “It’s typical that I have two or three intense sessions of scraping the internet for new things and looking through my collection with the party in mind. The peak records compound a little bit over time, but like Barbie said, we tend to emphasize the beginning and end depending on the situation.”
C: “Pre show I’m getting music together as we all do. Maybe grab a meal . And do my hair . After show I usually like to sip a cocktail maybe a cigarette and talk a lot lol.”
What’s your current top track + current top snack?
B: “Chris Korda, ‘Magic Cookie’ + dulce de leche on anything”
P: “Boddhi Satva & Mark de Clive-Lowe, ‘Are We Wrong?’ + dried apricots”
C: “Ooooooh. Man my current favorite track is ‘Champion’ by Rampa. Been playing it as soon as it came out . Top snack ? It’s you. You my top snack. Don’t let anyone else tell you different.”
What’s something you want to take with you into the new year and/or something you want to leave behind?
B: “Leaving: fodder, bringing: paradoxical thinking”
P: “Leaving: clutter, bringing: focus”
C: “I’d like to take upwards momentum and leave behind about 100lbs lol.”
