On December 10th we welcome Matthew ‘Bushwacka’ B aka Bushwacka!, the London-based producer/DJ,  who has been active under numerous aliases since 1988. First a percussionist in the London School Symphony Orchestra, he converted into a member of the infamous Rat Pack after a warehouse party in ’88 and hasn’t looked back since. With multiple critically acclaimed releases with his partner Layo as Layo & Bushwacka!, numerous releases under his Just Be moniker and now his own name, the man has been busy. His sets, which span dance music through the years, from acid house to breaks, are journeys for the body and soul so buckle up.

Ahead of the show, we asked Francis Harris to select his favorite tracks by the acid house pioneer to prep and prime you for a night of dancefloor euphoria.

“In 1999 I was introduced to Matthew Benjamin (Bushwacka!) through some mutual friends in NY. At the time, we threw a party on a boat on Sundays in summer in NY called Overboard. Layo and Bushwacka! , Mr. C, Terry Francis, Pure Science and Evil Eddie Richards became regular guests and I, in turn, began to play regularly at The End in London for the Subterrain night at the club. It was early in my dj and production career, and Matthew’s production style and dj prowess was highly influential in my development as a club producer and dj.. A Bushwacka record has an inimitable energy that is just infectious. Whether it be four to the floor or breaks a Bushwacka cut is as singular and dramatic now as it was 20 years ago.”
