The second installment of PR’s Machine Life series, a run of shows exploring the intersection of humans, machines and movement with both live electronic and dj sets, welcomes Berlin-based sound artist and field recordist Jake Muir. Centering his work around “found sound” collected from the world around him, whether it’s vinyl loops, radio snippets or environmental recordings, Muir creates lush textures that feel both organic and mechanical. Joining Muir is Pittsburgh native and Hot Mass mainstay, Davis Galvin on the decks. Known for sounds that reflect the immediate world around them, Galvin’s sets are dynamic and rhythmic collages of beats, breaks and dub.
