Lonefront [live] + Joey Anderson / Parris / Queen Majesty Public Records

Tickets

Live synthesis and beat programming in The Sound Room tonight: Ross Hutchens has built on his early years as a violinist and jazz guitarist, transitioning to live performance using hardware and modular synthesizers as Lonefront. Also a producer, his label Uncoiled is a purveyor of technically-driven hypnotic techno. Lonefront’s mind is definitively that of a musician’s, with deep understanding of improvisation, resonant frequency, and intricate polyrhythm built on passion for audio engineering and the dancefloor. New Jersey’s Joey Anderson follows suit. His deep, spacy, and original takes on house and techno hypnotize with moody atmosphere. He has published tracks, DJ sets, and mixes on Dekmantel [label + festival], Boiler Room, Resident Advisor and more.

Parris is a UK DJ and producer who needs no introduction. His distinctive take on sound system bass music fuses elements of “misty dubscapes, pulsating house and fragments of pop glitz” with lighthearted and emotive elegance. Entering the scene as a follower of 2000s era dubstep as well as an attendee of pioneering club night FWD>>, Parris has remained a steadfast figure in UK dance music, holding a party series at London’s Corsica Studios, and now bringing his shakers to The Atrium for an open to close set.

Living in NYC in the early 90s, Queen Majesty first started collecting records during the golden era of reggae and dancehall. Now two decades in, she has spins her Jamaican cuts regularly for East Village Radio, The Lot Radio, Summer Of Joy, Earth Beat, Bêvèrãgęš, and previously alongside Sister Nancy in The Atrium. Tonight, she brings the heat [she also owns Queen Majesty Hot Sauce] UPSTAIRS.
