Since the ’90s, Timmy Regisford has pioneered and platformed the soulful side of New York. He teaches a lesson in internationally-acclaimed house music all night long in The Sound Room.
In The Atrium, Rhythm Section affiliate Paula Tape shares her affinity for synth-drenched house all night. Recognized by DJ Mag, Tape’s bold, “balearic chuggers fold into spacious polyrhythms fold into evergreen melodies — lighting up the brain’s pleasure centres.” Early house meets more recent productions, and left-field meets irresistability. FIXED organizers JDH & Dave P back-to-back the opening.
Rounding out the Rhythm Section throughline is Hiatt dB. A percussionist and hi-fi enthusiast, his take on club culture is derived from a lackthereof, growing up in Austin and later moving to New Orleans, where the scope of his musical influences grew to a global scale.
